† Prof. Dame Averil Cameron (1940-2026)
Nous avons le grand regret de faire part du décès de Prof. Dame Averil Cameron, survenu le 7 avril 2026. Vice‑Présidente de la FIEC de 2004 à 2009, puis Présidente de 2009 à 2014, elle a servi la communauté des études classiques avec une autorité intellectuelle unanimement reconnue. Son sens du dialogue, son ouverture disciplinaire et son engagement infatigable ont profondément marqué la vie et le rayonnement de la FIEC.
It is our sad duty to announce the passing of Prof. Dame Averil Cameron on 7 April 2026. Vice-President of FIEC from 2004 to 2009, and subsequently President from 2009 to 2014, she served the Classical studies community with an intellectual authority that was universally recognised. Her spirit of dialogue, her interdisciplinary approach and her tireless commitment left a profound mark on the life and influence of FIEC.
